received B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in applied mathematics and electrical & electronic engineering from Northeastern University, Shenyang, China, in 1991 and 1995.
Currently she is a professor of Department of Computer Science, The Research and Advanced Studies Centre of the National Polytechnic Institute (CINVESTAV-IPN), Mexico. She was senior visiting professor of Queen's University Belfast, UK during the school year 2006-2007, and of University of California Santa Cruz in 2010 when she took sabbatical leaves.
She is senior member of IEEE, member of AMC (Mexican Association of Science), and member of SNI (National Researcher System) level 2.
Her research interests include data mining techniques and applications, social networks analysis, Petri nets applications, knowledge based system, neural networks, human-machine interface, etc.. She has published more than 100 research papers on international journals and conferences, has directed more than 30 PhD and master thesis.
